IRISE & the Center for Sustainability at the University of Denver to Host Earth Day Event: "Our Health > Cheap Gasoline" Join Us for a Powerful Event on Environmental Justice and Community Action!


In honor of Earth Day, Cultivando, a non-profit organization dedicated to environmental justice in Adams County, Colorado, is partnering with IRISE and the Center for Sustainability at the University of Denver to host a special event. The event will take place on Monday, April 22nd, 2024 at the Community Commons Grand Forum 1700 (2055 E Evans Ave, Denver CO 80210).


Event Highlights:

  • Research Findings: Learn about the latest research on toxic exposure and its impact on the health of residents in the 80216 zip code, one of the most polluted in the country.

  • "Las Promotoras" Documentary Screening: Watch this moving documentary that tells the story of fierce Latina advocates working for social change in their communities.

  • Q&A with Experts and Community Leaders: Engage in a discussion with experts and community leaders about the fight for environmental justice in Adams County.


This event is free and open to the public.


In-person and Virtual Attendance Options:

The event will be held in-person at the Community Commons Grand Forum 1700. For those who cannot attend in person, there will be a virtual option to join via Zoom.


Language Interpretation:

The event will be conducted in English with simultaneous Spanish interpretation, both in-person and virtually.
