This is why we're excited to announce that our esteemed Executive Director, Olga González, will be taking a well-deserved sabbatical leave from May 20th to September 6th.
A Time for Recharging for our Colorado Nonprofit Leader
Olga's dedication and passion for Cultivando's mission, empowering communities in Colorado, have been instrumental in our growth and success. We understand that even the most inspiring leaders need time to recharge and explore new perspectives. We fully support Olga, a pillar of the Colorado non-profit community, in taking this opportunity for deep rest and rejuvenation. We know she'll return with renewed energy and even more incredible ideas to guide Cultivando's future.
Leadership in Steady Hands: Cultivando's Interim Director
While Olga is away, Cultivando's operations will be in the capable hands of Rocío Franco. We'd like to take this opportunity to introduce you more in-depth to Rocío, who will assume the role of Interim Executive Director during Olga's absence.
Rocío's journey to Cultivando is one of resilience and dedication. Originally from Delicias, Chihuahua, Mexico, Rocío immigrated to the United States in her teenage years. As the eldest daughter, she quickly stepped up to become a champion for her family, navigating complex systems to ensure they had access to better opportunities, a common experience for many Colorado immigrant families.
This experience instilled in Rocío a deep understanding of the challenges faced by immigrant families and a passion for advocating for their well-being, a core mission of many Colorado non-profits. Before joining Cultivando in 2017, Rocío honed her skills working with Mapleton Public Schools and managing her family's business, gaining valuable experience for her role in the Colorado non-profit sector.
Rocío's commitment to social justice only grew stronger. Her dedication to the Colorado community led her to pursue a degree in Clinical Social Work from Metropolitan State University. Today, Rocío resides in Commerce City with her husband and daughters, where they prioritize a holistic approach to life, emphasizing health, self-care, and a connection with nature, values important to many Coloradans.
We are confident that Rocío's unique blend of experience, passion, and social work expertise will provide strong and effective leadership during this interim period, ensuring continued support for Colorado communities.
