At Cultivando, we're privileged to have dedicated individuals like Guadalupe Solís leading our Environmental Justice Programs. Since joining us as Director in April 2023, Guadalupe has been instrumental in driving forward our mission of promoting health equity and addressing environmental injustices within our communities.
Guadalupe brings a wealth of experience to her role, with a background in community health needs assessment planning, public health surveillance, and health policy interpretation and analysis. Her academic journey, including a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Northern Colorado and a master's degree with a dual emphasis in Epidemiology and Health Systems Management, and Policy from the Colorado School of Public Health, underscores her commitment to understanding and addressing complex health challenges.
But what truly sets Guadalupe apart is her unwavering passion for increasing access to healthcare, advancing health outcomes, and breaking down barriers that hinder the wellbeing of our communities. Guided by the principle of "nothing about us, without us," Guadalupe ensures that the voices and experiences of those most affected are at the forefront of our efforts.
In a recent article featured on Rocky Mountain PBS, Guadalupe shared her insights on environmental justice, shedding light on the need for systemic change to address the root causes of environmental injustices, particularly in communities disproportionately affected by pollution and other environmental hazards. She believes in empowering communities to hold polluters accountable and ensuring that solutions address the underlying issues, rather than just treating the symptoms.
Beyond her professional achievements, Guadalupe is a proud daughter, sister, cousin, and partner, with roots tracing back to Atlixco, Puebla, Mexico. Her commitment to her community extends beyond the workplace, as she dreams of one day serving as a kickboxing instructor to empower women and children.
When she's not leading initiatives or advocating for change, Guadalupe enjoys spending time outdoors, whether it's hiking with her beloved boxer or biking through the scenic landscapes of Colorado. She also finds joy in cooking wholesome meals for her loved ones and nurturing her connections with friends and family.
At Cultivando, we're grateful to have Guadalupe Solís as a driving force behind our environmental justice efforts. Her dedication, expertise, and unwavering commitment to equity inspire us all to strive for a healthier, more just world.
